Oak: finger jointed (A/A, A/B, B/B, B/C)

OAK – finger-jointed, A/A quality:

  • lamellas (staves) matched by wood structure (the same grain pattern on the whole side of the panel)
  • lamellas (staves) matched by colour (no discoloration allowed);
  • little sound knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 1 knot/m 2 allowed);
  • without sapwood, wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
  • no technical defects allowed

OAK – finger-jointed, A/B quality:

A-side:

  • lamellas (staves) matched by wood structure (the same grain pattern on the whole side of the panel)
  • lamellas (staves) matched by colour (no discoloration allowed);
  • little sound knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 1 knot/m 2 allowed);
  • without sapwood, wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
  • no technical defects allowed

B-side:

  • lamellas (staves) matched by wood structure (the same grain pattern on the whole side of the panel);
  • light discoloration allowed;
  • little sound pin knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 3 knots/m 2 allowed);
  • sapwood traces, that are not going through to the opposite side of the panel, are allowed (sapwood allowed on 15-20% of the B-surface of the whole panel) – no sapwood on the panel edges;
  • without wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
  • no technical defects allowed

OAK – finger-jointed, B/B quality:

  • lamellas (staves) matched by wood structure (the same grain pattern on the whole side of the panel);
  • light discoloration allowed;
  • little sound knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 3 knots/m 2 allowed);
  • sapwood is allowed on both sides of the panel (sapwood allowed on 15-20% of the surface of the whole panel);
  • without wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
  • no technical defects allowed

OAK – finger-jointed, B/C quality:

B-side:

  • lamellas (staves) matched by wood structure;
  • light discoloration allowed
  • little sound knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 3 knots/m 2 allowed);
  • sapwood allowed (sapwood allowed on 15-20% of the B-surface of the whole panel);
  • without wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
  • no technical defects allowed

C-side:

  • no demands on the wood structure;
  • discoloration allowed;
  • little sound knots, that are not going through to the opposite side, are allowed (up to max. 5 mm in diameter; 3 knots/m 2 allowed);
  • sapwood allowed (sapwood allowed on up to 50% of the C-surface of the whole panel);
  • without wood cracks, end splits, rot, wormholes or other defects (natural or developed by bad drying);
